Summer of '97..I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky. And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by, And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking. And a gray mist on the sea's face, and a gray dawn breaking. I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide. Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied; And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying. And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying...

This site documents the restoration process of a BobCat Wooden Sailboat that was built by my Dad in the early nineties and sailed for a few years on lake Grapevine in Texas. On Fathers Day 1998 my brother and I had her out in some weather and the mast snapped. She sat on a trailer exposed to the elements until my Pop gave her to me in July of 2000.

Build the instant Catboat

I would like to thank Philip C. Bolger for the design, Harold "Dynamite" Payson for building the prototype, members of The Bolger Discussion Group for their helpful suggestions, and last but not least My Pop who introduced me to one of my life's greatest joy's...SAILING !
